Our Dedication to Helping Others

One of the main goals of the Faithful Circle Quilters is philanthropic projects. Towards this end, members are asked to annually make a quilt or blanket to contribute. Quilts and other items are collected by the Philanthropy Committee and these items are then distributed to various organizations.

In addition to quilts, the FCQ members have been generous contributors to many organizations over the years. Currently, the Philanthropy Committee receives and distributes quilts, children’s pillowcases, NICU heart pillows, preemie hats, pet beds, Christmas stockings, heart pillows for mastectomy patients, and chemo port pillows for chemotherapy patients.

In the 2022 fiscal year, 172 quilts were donated, 727 Christmas stockings, 16 pillowcases, 41 dog beds, 106 heart pillows for cancer patients, 628 NICU hearts, and 243 preemie caps. In addition, quilts were made for 35 doll beds and contributed to the local woodworker’s guild, and $1,000 along with cleaning and personal products were donated to a local social service organization.

When you drill down to the core, quilting is love. We quilt to keep people warm. We cover our loved ones in fabric hugs. We share love when we gift a quilt or donate quilts to charity.
